The new and improved BMW 3 Series is set to arrive in showrooms next week with an entry price point of £24,880. The class leading compact executive will be more spacious and larger than the current model, whilst also being more efficient and quicker.
There will be four-cylinder 328i and six-cylinder 335i petrol versions available when the 3 Series goes on sale on 11th February. There are also two versions of the 320d diesel vehicles. Both the Efficient Dynamics and Standard versions output the same bhp as the previous generation models.
However, it will be more fuel efficient with an average of 118g/km, down from 125g/km in the standard 3 Series and a lower average of 109/km in the Efficient Dynamics version.
BMW has implemented a six-speed manual gearbox in all models though its latest eight-speed automatic gearbox, which reduces CO2 emissions significantly and is available across the entire range.
The Munich based manufacturer will introduce more 3 Series vehicles later this year with three four-cylinder 2.0 litre models (316d diesel, 318d diesel and 320i petrol) arriving during the spring and a six-cylinder diesel model, an ActiveHybrid 3 model and four-wheel drive models during the autumn.
The cheap BMW 3 Series will have three new variants with Luxury, Modern and Sport trim levels set to feature alongside the current ES, SE and M Sport versions. The 316d ES will be the cheapest with prices starting from £24,880.
